General guidelines
- PennScience issues are published annually, and submissions are due every year on November 1st at 11:59 pm EST. To be eligible for publication in PennScience, all listed authors must be in high school or have completed the research while in high school. All other contributors should be listed in the acknowledgments section.
- All papers must be 3-5 pages in length, excluding references and including figures. Please refer to the style guide and template below for information on all PennScience manuscript submission requirements
- Please note that PennScience is an open-access journal. If your paper is accepted for publication, you are free to publish it elsewhere, provided that publishing in PennScience does not violate their guidelines. Unlike most journals, our policy allows this because our primary goal is to highlight high school students' innovative and creative research rather than restrict their ability to showcase their work. We only require that, if selected for publication, you do not submit your paper to any journal that prohibits publication in PennScience.
